After all these years with this question about the Wye being a subject here, you would think someone in the discussion group might have found some reason for its existance. Or maybe just interview some old timer about it and post his reply.
And even though we have found a 4-Star General who says the Chili Line operated into mid-1943, we have been offered no firm data to prove it.
The Chili Line is matching the mysterious country it runs throught. And don't forget my Decmber 4, 2005 post which shows the construction at San Jose of the secret bypass around snow clogged Cumbres Pass.
