The Christmas edition of the Washington Post included an article titled "Living-History Museums Struggle to Draw Visitors". Although this article does not specifically mention narrow gage railroading, I thought it was still relevant to the NGDF.
The Post article discusses how major Living History Museums have had to compromise their authenticity in order to attract visitors. As the article puts it, "In this fast-moving age, apparently, just making the past come alive isn't enough."
Keep this article in mind the next time somebody starts a thread about how 'simply providing authentic history at the C&TS will cause lots and lots of visitors to show up'.
