All is not well, however -- it seems to me that the quality of E-6 processing is also starting to drop.
There're still a fair number of choices for E6 if you're not getting the quality you want from your current lab, though it is steadily dwindling as well. I've been fortunate to have one of the best small E6 only labs in the country almost at my back door, offering exceptional quality.
Unfortunately, however, the lab (Markham Photo Lab in Ft Collins, CO) closed up shop permanently about 2 weeks ago. Even catering to hard core E6 shooters, especially medium and large format, wasn't enough to allow them to keep the lights on.
I still have other viable options where quality is still valued, but yep... it's getting to be of concern for E6 as well, and I'm going to miss Markham. I was an early adopter of digital SLRs, and I love shooting with my digital bodies, but I still love film as well.
