The cars are still at the mine. No trucks, but truss rods intact. Car bodies were put next to each other and the adjoining sides of the 2 cars were removed to make one large storage room. There is a change room with shower and office built onto the south end and all that is badly damaged by vandals, but of no interest anyway. I would like to see them saved and have the addresses at hand to write the owners, who unfortunately have gone through a nasty divorce and aren't talking to anyone right now. They're safe until next summer, and we'll see what can be done. The car numbers are stenciled on the inside and I recall one being 1007 and I don't remember the other number. I think there were originally 10 of these cars. One other car was intact when I moved to Silverton in 1970 at another location, but it disappeared one day and was carted off in pieces to the dump.
