I've recently had the pleasure of talking with several men who worked in the Skagway shops during the war, and they all had pretty high opinions of the K-28's. The concensus was that they were tough locomotives and that they served well. Now, granted, these guys didn't run them out on the road, so talking with an engineman who worked on them could be a whole different story...
