Spiraling Curved Track

Do you know if it was common to use spirals in the layout of D&RGW narrow gauge track? If so, was there some standard for doing so? In looking at the Valuation Maps from the CRRM, as you have referenced in the past, it appears that curves are laid out to a constant radius expressed in degrees. Wouldn't they need to account for any spiral in the curve on the map so that it would be an accurate representation?
