#9 was the engine that converted me from standard to narrow gauge. I doubt I will ever belive that she was scrapped, my brain just wouldn't accept it. Sort of like some other people on this board and and SV mallets. We need hard core proof, and even then we would say it's the wrong engine.

I have the erecting card for her, and her tender tank, framed & mounted. Too me, #9 was a work of art.

BTW #9 was not a "small narrow gauge steam engine." 10-28-E-265 had a stright 58" boiler, 40" drive wheels, 123" driving wheel base, 17"x20" cylinders, and a standard SP oilfire door on her backhead.
Far more engines were built smaller than her than bigger.
No, there is no point to this post. Just a bit of pride in a fellow Californian.
