who said anything about not doing any climbing.
I just said shorten the trip through some means. If that is to just make cumbres turns, so be it. But if I remember right the climb is not a constant 4% all the way up. Is there not a place that a wye could be placed? if not then perhaps a run around like the loop has and run the loco forward and backward. These are mikados, they are supposed to run in reverse just as well as they run in forward.
