Gavin,
Who were the railfans that ran the Alfred County line? I seem to remember it was one of the well known guys from S.A. but can't remember which one. I regret to say I never saw the NG on my two trips down to SA. Always too much other action to take in. 30 days for a trip sounds like a lot, but you can only see so many lines, and do them well in that time. At least I got to see some GMAM garratts running before they were withdrawn.
