Hi Pat;
I was contacted by the director of that movie; he was looking for a working steam locomotive in the right time frame. The main problem was he needed an operational mid-1800s locomotive; there are not that many around.
Two alternatives he was considering was pushing around a local display locomotive (it was filmed in Mexico) with a diesel and use a smoke generator; or CGI animation. They tried one of these, and he wasn't happy with the results when he e-mailed me; I don't know what he ended up doing.
