Does anyone besides me think about that fact that last years ridership at the Loop could be considered NOT a typical Loop year in regards to ridership?
With all the extra money and effort spent on advertising that "the end is at hand"..."Last chance to ride the Loop"..."Its closing forever", etc. that 2004 Loop ridership was NOT the norm. I think if you look at the Loop ridership from 2001, 2002, 2003 you will find that 2004 ridership was NOT the norm. Hey, I have no problem with any company which finds its self in the position of closing down, having a "going out of business", "everything must go" sale....heck, its been a long time American tradition...make as much dough as you can on the way out.
As a matter of fact, one could also say that this years attendace could be down in part because of all the time and effort on the part of some in Georgetown who have tried to convice the public at large that the Loop is closed. Heck, just go online and search "Georgetown Loop" and you will find the top two websites that
still strongly imply that the Loop is closed and gone forever.
Well, inspite of these negative efforts, the ridership at the Loop is strong and will be even better next year.
