The 464, as originally overhauled by the Huckleberry Railroad, was painted in Rio Grande livery, complete with flying Rio Grande lettering. I visited there during a Railfan weekend as the 464 was being reassembled and the shop crew said they were going to restore the 464 to its original, so to speak, Rio Grande appearance.
My guess is the lawyers for Gennessee County have been earning their pay. UP must strike fear into a lot of lawyer's hearts. It's a shame. The 464 is a national treasure so to speak. How many mechanical devices that are 100 years old are still in use?
