More Befuddlement, it's a 3.

To add more confusion to what you have already posted, the number under the 7 is a 3, not an 8. You can make out the similarities if you look at the 3 that is still a 3 to the left.
I saw your post this morning and thought by now someone might have been able to identify the previous number of car #11037. It apparently ended in a 3. You can also make out parts of another number to the left. There is an "8" visible between the second "1" and the "0" in 11037. So the previous number of this car appears to have been something like "8--3".
I would bet that this is car #11037. The remnant of the ghost 3 appears to me to be the same vintage as the ghost 8.
I'm using a laptop, and my LCD screen has a lot of contrast, which may help some.
