I don't know. Sure, it has been disassembled, and there are, no doubt, some parts missing. But basically she looks pretty good.
It has been said that she is thoroughly worn out, which means Running gear must come completely off. But I see no real reason that this will be any more or less than the shop had to go through for 484, 488 or 489. The only issue is when money will be available.
It seems logical to me, that the shop would want to order two sets of every part as they prepare to rebuild 489. In that way, maybe, they could reduce the overall cost of repairing 483 at the same time. Thus increasing the fleet to 5 K-36s. Which in turn, would set them up hansomley to then work on other engines for their historic value.
