Raising the Roof, Durango Style...

Thanks,
I had not considered Maxwell.
The roof over stalls #4-6 was modified as soon as they were extended. The rear walls were extended pretty far, over 15 feet. The roof had to be modified to reflect the shallower pitch. The front of the roof was consistant with the others, but as the original rooline dropped to the end of the original walls, the roof over stalls #4-6 becomes more evident as it gets further back. This shows up in some pictures. The roof was substantially raised in 1965, probably about 2 feet. This had to be done because the original timbers were weakened as a result of the first modification. Later, some of the structural support was removed to clear doghouses on the 490's. By 1965, it was becoming dangerous, and could have collapsed under heavy snowfall.
