Just out of curiousity how long did it take you to walk into Rock Tunnel, and where did you start, at Osier. The spots you just shot with teh Goose, about how far of a walk were they 40-50 minutes?
Maybe I can catch a speeder ride one direction some day, or will have to do another charter...arrgghh!!!

PS Hike-in shot in 1977 on Mantague Pass of a Garratt on the mainline passenger Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. This only lasted another year or so after this. We hiked in about a half mile for this one, and went further down the grade for a freight. In the freight shot you can see part of the Indian Ocean in the Background. Neat Place!

PS...Would like to do more at Phantom curve, and Whiplash curve as well as the spots you mentioned. No shortage of good locations thats for sure. But with only 2 trains a day, and one in each direction, its a lot of work for a little bit of good shots. Still its a good challenge.
Unfortunately my arthritis is putting a damper on my long hikes(and short ones) these days, but the mind is still willing!
