The relocation was put in service 9/13/1962 and added 3.88 miles to the San Juan route. It began at MP 398.70 (A146.94) and ended at 154.16 that became 158.04, and there was one milepost with 406/410. It included a bridge of 277 feet over the new reservoir. A new water tank at Arboles was built using a engine tender on legs.
Look at the Iron Horse News reprinting by the CRRM for more data at that date. A small diesel was used by the contracton and Mr. Norwood published a photo of it in one of his books I believe. The original line was built 7/8/1881 to Arboles.
