Though not Narrow Gauge I thought you might like to know about some Garretts that were specifically altered for Coal bunker first running. The New South Wales Government Railways AD60 4-8-4+4-8-4s caused some discord, I can not remember what (passably too much smoke) that many of them were fitted with due controls linked across the cab so they should be used bunker first. Those that were fitted had the letters DC painted on the bunker fronts with the number of the locomotive in off white against the brown livery, ie: AD 6023 DC. No other Garretts were given this luxury.
