I know that other posters said that #12 wouldn't be able to make it around the curves... which reminds me of a question I'd been meaning to ask. If a 2-8-0 with four rigid driver axles could make it around the loop's curves, what problems could there be with a 2-6-2 that only has three rigid driver axles? In other words, if #40 could get through the loop's curves, why couldn't a smaller locomotive?
Did the concern have anything to do with #12 being an inside-frame locomotive while #40 and #44 are outside frame locomotives?
