What is the history of the carbody? The Kansas Central was very early, and this could be the oldest narrow gauge carbody left. We have a 1874 boxcar at Ardenwood Farm in Fremont CA, we assumed to be the oldest. It has a Kansas connection, as Thomas Carter, its builder was an associate of Howard Schuyler, who has worked for the Kansas Central, and later worked for the North Pacific Coast Railroad.
