Cars with side access are on their way. I believe Jason is working on one or two at the BCRHS on Valmont in Boulder Co.
I like the morning Jim. It's the best part of the day IMHO. That is when I see the most wildlife in the yard while sipping my morning cup o joe. I also take a walk (most would consider it a hike but walk sounds less intimidating to me). One route I take gives me a nice view of the old D&SL road below the Moffat Tunnel, now the UP route. Not narrow guage but mountain railroading is my passion, especially steam. I once chased the GW #51 from Rollinsville to the tunnel and turn to return. 1964, I believe, I was about 10 and that was the beginnning. Someday I hope to pull the throttle on a steam locomotive.
