Jim,
Inspection/testing has already begun on the passenger/freight cars. There was a fellow there performing the R-O-W/structual engineering evaluation last week. I spoke to him briefly and was only given "the track is in pretty good shape" but as to a final nod, I am out of the loop so to speak.
I will say this, looks like condos are out of the picture, for now anyway. I for one, am pleased that this little piece of Colorado Narrow Guage history seems to have a future. As you know that has been my primary concern since we began communicating last August.
Work continues on the #12. Tender trucks have been rebuilt, wheels turned and badly worn bolts and pins replaced. Side rods have new brasses, brakes are recieving tlc, pilot truck rebuilt, flues cleaned, fire brick being replaced...There is still a lot of work to do, and a boiler inspection but it looks to me like she may be ready for opening day.
