Not a criticism! Merely curious about how C&S #9 is progressing. Has the hydrostatic test been accomplished yet? How about the cylinders and running gear? What was the status of the frame? Any cracks that needed to be addressed?
As I understand it the engine had been rather savagely relieved of a variety of it's acoutrements (via welding torch may he rot in hades!) so these will need to be replaced. Have replacements been procured?
Is the tender going to require replacement or will patch welding do? What about the frame. Since it is being converted to an oil burner what will have to be done to modify the tender as well as the firebox?
It would be extremely beneficial to the CHS (for PR purposes) to have updates with pictures of the restoration as it progresses. Considering some of these parts may be difficult to find (and in some cases impossible requiring replication) I should think that Ulrich has been in contact with various parties. Any info?
