I just happen to be reading "A Silver Camp Called Creede - A Century of Mining" by Richard C. Huston. An excellent history of Creede.
The "boom" was from the discovery of the Holy Moses mine in August 1889 to the collapse of the silver market in 1893.
The "peak" appears to have been in 1893, when the "Colorado Business Directory for 1893" listed the population as 6000. In 1900 the population was listed as 1173 by the U.S. Census.
