Well, we finally got someplace with our hunt for the missing trip I posted last week. Thanks to a contact who reads this list we got some answers at the Colorado Railroad Museum. But I am asking for your help in Clarification of a couple of points now that we know more.
First, the trip in question was May 6, 1962, a Denver Yard Tour with C&S 2-8-0 #638. Apparently it went on at least two branches. The first was the old Denver and New Orleans line that went through Parker, and Elizabeth, and at that time ended at Connors. The runby spot on this line was near Bucktel Avenue....This is question number one...Do we have the spelling right on Bucktel Avenue, or is this off a bit?
After this, the train went on the old South Park Line, which was later C&S, to a power plant around Evans Road, where they had to run tender first. This is our last location on the video.
Can anyone tell me more about this location. The street there, the railroad name, or the power plant name, etc. Does this have an area name?
I figure some of you guys in the Denver area, should know some of this now that we have narrowed things down a bit.
Thanks to all who have helped, including Keith Goodrich the Roadmaster!!
