I watched west bound Amtrak train 5 being serviced this afternoon in Grand Junction and the dining car's water tank was refilled with a hose (not garden however--something that looks a lot better). I'm not sure if there is any other way to do this, and bottled water on trains makes no sense.
The hobby shop across from the GJ train station is gone and the property has a large for sale sign on top of D&RGW narrow gauge boxcar 3001. Anyone know the details? That car is missing one of the coupler knuckles, but looks complete otherwise.
