Osier loop was taken out of service for a time in 1999 by George Bartholomew, and again this year by RGRPC. I'm not sure about the previous operator, but Ed and Bob have some concerns about the curvature of the loop (parts of it appear to be too tight for our engines, and tighter than specified) that need to be verified by the Commission and addressed if necessary.
We're hoping for a quick resolution, as the loop is an important piece of the puzzle in operating the C&TS. I had a long chat with Joe Vigil on Friday, and he pointed out a lot of advantages the loop offers us, especially when we have disrupted operations.
