It was indeed mentioned in the first few days of operations. Seems they had to get the numbers on the engines in a hurry so they used commercially available stick on numbers that don't match the historical font. It was either slap 'em on or not have numbers in an emergency move at the beginning of the season.
Hey fellas, the emergency is over. Can we put real numbers on the locos now?
