The american nauga, belonging to the sheep family, was actually a cross breed and not the genuine article. While they did well in Colorado, Wyoming was better suited to the breed, but still they don't do all that well there.
The genuine naugas are a sad story, living in the war zones of Afghanistan and Pakistan. I hear they are delicious, and nobody throws away the hide.
Sadder still is the story of the Nepalese Nauga, almost certainly extinct from predation of human, snow leapords and possibly the yeti.
