Dan, that would be Gov. Goldschmidt. One of the screwy things was that the original intent of the project so I understood was to provide room for a wide passing lane. Instead they created such high cliffs that they had to provide a barracaded area for rock falls, thus taking up the space intended for the passing lane, though the shoulders are wide enough now that slow moving vehicles often pull over to the shoulder. Minam hill is of course what I am speaking of. Those of us traveling that highway spent enough more time waiting to pass through the construction zone over a 2 year period that we will never gain that time back in the time saved by the improvments. Well I better shut up and get back to pondering the NG.
