The drivers are all back in the frame, and the spring rigging is assembled. We dropped the lead truck out yesterday for cleaning and inspection. We found one broken coil spring and the brasses pretty worn. We have new springs and brasses on hand, so we can put back together after we polish the journals. Once it is back in we will drop out the rear truck for inspection and to change the wheelset. The side rods are at the machine shop to have the center distances corrected. Once we know what the bores clean up at we can machine the new rod brasses. The tubes are sitting on a flatcar waiting to go in once the FRA inspector checks the interior of the boiler; he may be here this week. The Form 4 has been updated and checked. The bottom of the smokebox has been replaced; we need to re-drill some of the holes in the front ring. Besides the rod brasses the biggest machine work left is to turn the new pistons. The cab has been done for some time, but will be one of the last things to go on. The tender is done except for lettering and pipework.
