Boy you have me confuselled now. Not really. It is all very simple. McKim moved to the site off Auburn, where Scott learned the machining trade, after this photo was taken. There is in 1925 a machine shop and foundry located at this location, and it may be that McKim was working in both of them, however the sanborn map doesn't show a rail connection at this time.
The photo is looking east, across the mainline of the OR&N
