I worked as a pro photographer for 22 years in the Air Force and as training director for a photographic company for 4 years after that. One of the most difficult things to teach (and to practice) was to watch the background. We get so focused (pardon the pun) on the foreground that we do not even see things like that in the background until we get into the darkroom or into Photoshop. In the darkroom, you can sometimes burn in the background so that it does not show. In Photoshop you can do amazing things that sometimes look realistic and sometimes not.
Hard to know if the image you are seeing is real these days.
