Thanks for the information. DEos anyone have information on the section gangs in the later years west of Chama or how many men were in the gangs? Might anyone have any interesting stories to pass on?
One true story I know of was in upper michigan after severe flooding, a seciton gang attached a fishing boat motor to to their motorcar to go inspect their SUBMERGED track in the heavy flooded area on the DSS&A. The railroad borrowed LS&I steam locomotives to pull trains through the high water since it was too deep for diesels.
