Insulfrogs are an insulated frog. They are plastic and are electrically dead. The advandage is that they do not require any fancy wiring to maintain the correct polarity as the switch points are moved from the primary to the divergent route. The disadvantage is that they are dead. Short wheelbased locomotives can stall on them when traversing the swithch at slow speeds. The electrofrog is electrically live and requires some form of electrical switching to set the polarity to be in line with the rail it happens to be connecting with. Hope this helps.
