About "blowing the D&S out of the water", I just meant that if Chama were to have an operating turntable again, from my point of view, and i'm sure this goes for some other people, the C&T would just be that much better. That's all I meant Mikey!
If the turntable were to be installed again, it would probably be after they had 6 or 7 operating locomotives again so...again, that's all I was really getting at.
If I had the choice, 20 years from now or something, and let's say I was the one to decide about what is to be done with it. I would probably dream of it and what it would be like, then I would say "Sell it"!
I think it will just cause problems if you ask me. They will have to maintain it and it will cost huge sums of money to install it and dig the pit.
I think the sidings down in the "swamp" area will need to be used someday for keeping hot locomotives there for the night. I see it happening. Let's say 15 years from now, they are good on money and can pretty much support themselves now, 100,000 riders a year or so, and Kim or whoever the GM is in 2014, want's yet another locomotive. Pretty soon it will get to the point where there are 2 or 3 night watchmen working in Chama or something, and they will have 5 locomotives sitting there. Where do you put all of them?! Well, I say put them down on the sidings down there. Although they could probably fit 5 up on either side of the house.
3 on the one side and 2 on the west side of it.
Man o' man I can't wait to be working there. I need to call Kim again, ask her if there's any news on new emp's for next season. I am going to beg her to put me in the shop. Hopefully with the night crew.
I will make for a good shop crewman I believe. I have lot's of pride, and I can assure Kim that when she comes down to the yard the next morning, she can expect to see a shining locomotive.
