Just as an alternative to your bulk mailing delay idea, the ticket reservations office probably shouldn't tell people that they can't make reservations for rides in October yet. We planned on riding at least once in the 20-22 timeperiod, and were told we couldn't make reservations till a week or so in advance.
Since six of us are flying out, renting a car, multiple rooms, etc. it's kinda frustrating that we can't get a train reservation!
If there's been some kind of misunderstanding, let me know. Otherwise, *we* will still be there (i'd go just to watch the rails rust;-), but I doubt that others who have to spend more than $2000 for the trip would do so.
