I don't agree with Chama lacking charm, I'd rather spend time there than the tourist trap that is Durango. The slow, quiet and laidback atmosphere, the Chamita River that flows through the campgrounds and motel areas, the smell of the trees, the friendly Hispanic people that make us railfans welcome. I've been to Chama countless times since 1972 and I dream everyday of going back again and again.
