There is a C&S flatcar upside down on the lower switchback on the Pagosa Lumber grade about 10 miles south of Dulce . The lumber roads purchased a number of cars from the C&S . There was direct interchange betwen the C&Sng and the D&RGW ng at Leadville till the third rail was removed from Leadville to Salida in 1925 . I read somewhere there was a flurry of equipment transfers that year before the connection was severed . In Dorman's most recent book "the Chili Line" , on page 211 ,there is a remarkable photo of an Argentine Central gon loaded with coal sitting in front of the engine house at the El Vado ,NM sawmill .I know Dorman was very proud of that find .
I noted that several of the CONX tanks had C&S fittings ,like chain hangers , etc .CONX #6, the last wooden framed oil tanker on the D&RGW ,had several C&S fittings .Could it have been built in Denver ? According to my Cokulations the frame of CONX #6 became trash gon #06299.
