I might have been involved with organizing the photo line in 1993, so I can understand these comments. It's always frustrating to do a good Lobato runby on the MLT for a couple reason; it's the 1st time for many riders and they don't understand the concept. Plus Lobato itself is generally flat and there is no natual place for the line (especially on the sunny side at that time of day). Other reasons are that you're generally in a hurry to get it started as you don't want to delay the regular train.
Coxo on the otherhand is always more fun. The light is excellent, backgrounds good, and there's a number of areas good for a line. Plus everybody has settled in a bit and being the 2nd of the day, most people now have a clue what to expect.
I found that after a couple times organizing photo lines is that best thing you can do is let some of the more prominent photographers pick their spots and let the others fill in along those lines.
