Ten percenters

90% of the people in this hobby are really great people . The jerks are so memorable we often remember them over the rest . We also need to remember that the hobby has changed a lot over the last three decades as the hobby has become "mainstream" ,meaning more "normal" people are in the hobby , and that is a definite improvement.
I have dabbled in the old car hobby ,and found lots of nice people there too .Nevertheless I met a couple of jerks there as well . Should we list a "hall of shame" ? No. All of us have good and bad days . We all know the consistent jerks by name and have the choice of ignoring and avoiding them . A lot of hobbies based around established businesses will find a lot of jerks in the management . Railroads (and other corporations) do not as a rule love the public's attentions . Some Argentinians several years back drove a 1928 Chevy touring car from Tierra del Fuego to Detroit , Michigan .GM CEO Roger Welch(the star of the notorous documentary "Roger and Me")would not allow the Argentine adventurers in the GM office building.
