Speaking of New Mexico Lumber #7...she's going to steam again and is currently restoration at the Hesston Steam Museum near LaPorte, Indiana. The locomotive operated there until 1985 when a fire damaged much of the railroad's equipment.
The museum's current projects have been the Brookfield Zoo 2' gauge equipment (a Sandley 2-4-2 and rebuilt and reboilered Arn Jung 0-8-0, converted into a 2-8-0). The 2-4-2 is now operable, and they're also running the little switch engine. The Sandleys built/rebuilt all of this equipment; Elliott Donnelley donated the whole railroad. Of other interest, I heard that the former Darjeeling-Himalayan Sharp-Stewart locomotive has been sold and is to be moved (if not already) to the UK. This engine was purchased to run at Donnelley's backyard 14" and 24" gauge railroad in Lake Forest, IL.
The #7 was also owned by Donnelley and was in South Dakota at the Black Hills Central. I don't know if it operated there...but I'm sure many on this list do. The WP&Y #69 was also operating there...dummy diamond stack. All standard-gauge now.
