An interesting bit of trivia on the drop botton gons as well as 3000 series box cars and 5000 series stock cars. All were delivered to the D&RG at Pueblo without brake beams. The D&RG shop in Pueblo installed the outside brake beams and the cars were placed into service there. So all the cars made at least one trip through the Royal Gorge. So if the Royal Gorge operations ever does dual gauge, they would be close to historically correct.
