I just got back from spending the day at the loop. The weather seemed to be sympathetic to the day, being nice to begin with and becoming steadily more dreary and cold. The last train from Devils GAte left in a light shower. The black bunting on the engines was more then appropriate and seemed to conform with the general mood of everyone. Every train I saw was packed. Some people were riding for the first time and had questions about why the train was going away next year, this sentiment seemed to be foremost in every ones minds. There were many photographers on the line shooting the last day of operations. My thanks to the train crews today.
