The flatcar that NCNG #183 [WP&YR #17] was on, is long gone. The tank is in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.
Since discovering the tank and writing the short article at the link on Boerries' website I found documentation of the recovery and scrapping of #181.
Also pictures of #183 show the tall dome, so it's likely that the dome was shortened when the tank was decomissioned and used for stove oil storage sometime in the 50s.
I'm trying to save it from being scrapped.
Speaking of 'picking it up'... how much do you figure they weigh and how do you plan to move yours?
