UP extended one of the stalls that is left so 3985 is completely enclosed. It was early seventies when freight part of roundhouse was razed. That's why #3985 was put on display in front of Cheyenne Depot & 4023 was moved to Omaha. 4023 originaly sat in front of UP shops in Omaha. The UP shop crew ran a steam line out of the shop & through to the stack. It was illuminated at nite & looked pretty neat you could see it very clearly at nite going over the UP yard & shops all lit up & steaming. The plan was made to raze the UP shops in Omaha which at one time did all the way to Class 5 repairs & where the tires were turned on #4449 for the freedom train. so 4023 & 6900 were moved to Kenifeck Park & when it was decided that whole area was blighted & substandard they both were moved to Durham Union Station which has been restored in contrast to the CB&Q station just down the street which is going down hill fast.I thought both locomotives were supposed to go under cover at the station but that hasn't happened yet if ever............Wooly
