I loved the old days. Not only was the DRGW pulling freight with steam, but I was a LOT younger. But that was half a century ago, and we have both changed. I like to think of the roadway upgrades, the addition of a bunch of diesels, the conversion to oil, not to mention spark arrestors, more paint on the equipment, and a whole bunch of other things that are now different as how the ng. might have evolved if the Rio Grande had not gone away. Throughout its history the railroad was always changing and this is just another period in that continuum. Only change is constant, or something like that.
