Our SVRR archive and library building is almost ready for occupancy. Our contractor was able to take care of most of the punch list items in the last couple of weeks. The front door has been painted along with the porch posts and a bit of other exposed wood. The interior details are also completed, but the floor still needs some clean up. Yesterday was the last precipitation free day for a while, so Jane and I hauled a load of new shelving, a new map cabinet and shades for the windows over to SVRR. We stored the stuff in the car shop for the time being. If all goes according to plan we will be going over next Wed. for the final walk through inspection. After that, we can install the window shades and begin assembling shelves, etc. The load we hauled was all paid for by a grant from the Leo Adler Foundation. We continue to seek funding to finish furnishing the building. The major items to acquire will be related to computer, scanners and printers, plus sundry less expensive items.
