It took me about 10-15 min according to my fitness tracker to get to and from the river each way. There's a well worn path taking off from the end of the cut that the kayakers are using from the point of no return sign at the bottom of the gorge

The mandatory take out sign that can be seen from the train (but not read... in fact, I don't think you can read it from the river).
