A Gold and White Day on The Silverton

With Spring Break in, well, swing... The Durango and Silverton split their Cascade train into two parts this week, with the second being run as an extra. On the 14th of March, 481 handled the extra train sans first-class cars harking back to The Silverton Train of old with only a single gondola bringing up the markers.

Rounding the point at Elbert Creek the snow is beginning to fall but is not sticking.

Pulling further out at Elbert Creek to see down there is Shalona Lake and the Hermosa Valley further below
